Experience an exhilarating adventure that immerses you in the stunning mountains of Cusco region. Our journey kicks off bright and early with a hotel pickup, whisking you away to our starting point. During the approximately 2.5-hour scenic drive, we’ll make a stop in a charming town where a scrumptious breakfast awaits.
Once we arrive at our destination, we’ll begin our trek, starting with a gentle uphill walk for about 25 minutes until we reach a picturesque water channel. From this vantage point, prepare to be awestruck by the awe-inspiring views of the Andean mountains, including the majestic snow-capped peaks of Humantay and Salkantay.
Our ultimate destination for the day is a camping spot nestled at an impressive altitude of 3800m/11750ft, surrounded by the cold and breathtaking scenery of Soraypampa. After setting up camp, we’ll enjoy a satisfying lunch before embarking on an exploration of the nearby Humantay Lake, where you can bask in the natural beauty that surrounds you. As evening falls, we’ll make our way back to the campsite Sky Lodge Dome, allowing you to unwind and soak in the magnificent mountain views before a restful night’s sleep.

Following breakfast on the second day of our Salkantay Trek, we will commence our upward hike at roughly 6:30 am. It will take us approximately 4 hours to reach the highest point of the trek, situated at an elevation of 4650m/15200ft, nestled between the impressive mountains of Salkantay and Tucarhuay. The panoramic sight of these majestic, snow-covered peaks from the pass is truly awe-inspiring, and there is a possibility of encountering snow in the vicinity. After a brief rest and group photograph, we will retrace our path back to Soraypampa, where we will have lunch and relax before boarding the bus back to Cusco.
Second Day Itinerary:
- Total distance: Approximately 11 km
- Estimated walking time: 5 to 6 hours
- Maximum altitude point: Around 4,650 m.
Cusco – Kilometer 104 Inca Trail Trailhead (Chachabamba) – Wiñayhuayna – Aguas Calientes
We will arrange for your transportation from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 am and it will take approximately 2 hours to reach the Ollantaytambo train station. If you are staying in Ollantaytambo or the Sacred Valley, the pickup time will be 2 hours later. From Ollantaytambo, we will take the first trains to the Inca Trail’s Chachabamba (also known as Km 104) site. Upon arrival, you will go through a checkpoint where you will need to present your original passport. Following that, our experienced trekking chefs will prepare a delicious picnic breakfast for you to enjoy.
After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to explore Chachabamba, an impressive Inca structure. Your tour guide will provide you with information about the history of the Inca Trails. Once you have seen the remarkable Inca ruins, we will embark on a 4-hour hike to the Wiñayhuayna (Forever Young) Inca Site, which is one of the most breathtaking Inca monuments along the Inca Trail. You will have ample time to discover the agricultural terraces, water fountains, and Incan temples. Lunch will be served at a nearby camp with the same name, where our chef will introduce you to the finest Peruvian cuisine made with fresh local ingredients.
The second part of the day begins with a 1-hour walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you will catch your first glimpse of the Lost City of the Incas. We will arrive at the Sun Gate between 3 and 4 p.m., when the crowds at Machu Picchu have diminished, allowing you to explore the site with fewer people. From there, you will walk for another hour to Machu Picchu, enjoying stunning views along the way. We will reach Machu Picchu in the late afternoon, taking advantage of the sunset and the opportunity to see the citadel without the usual crowds.
Finally, we will take a 30-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), where you will check into your hotel and enjoy dinner at a restaurant.
Third Day Itinerary:

Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco
On the final and most significant day of the tour, we will start early in the morning to prepare for the highlight: a visit to Machu Picchu, the renowned lost city of the Incas. Your hotel will provide breakfast, and at 6:00 a.m., we will board the buses. We’ll arrive at Machu Picchu in the early morning, and if the weather is clear, you might catch a glimpse of the breathtaking sunrise over the site.
Inside the citadel of Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour. Your guide will accompany you as you explore the agricultural terraces, temples, and Inca palaces. You’ll also have some free time to further explore the site on your own or choose to hike either Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain (advance ticket reservation is necessary).
After the guided tour, we will have lunch at the Belmond Machu Picchu hotel, located next to the citadel. Later, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes to explore the town.
In the afternoon, you will board the Vistadome Panoramic Train, which will take you back to Ollantaytambo. From there, we will pick you up and transfer you back to Cusco in a private van. The estimated arrival time at your hotel is 7:00 p.m.
