STARTING POINT: Pick-up from Cusco & Sacred Valley Hotel/Airbnb. From 4:30 am to 5:00 am

Itinerary
Cusco – Mollepata – Challacancha – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake
We offer a thrilling experience that takes you on a journey through the beautiful mountains of Cusco. Our adventure begins early in the morning as we pick you up from your hotel and head to our starting point. You will enjoy a scenic drive that lasts approximately 2.5 hours, and we will make a stop in a small town where we will have breakfast.
Once we arrive at our destination, we will begin our trek, and the first 25 minutes will be a gentle uphill walk until we reach a picturesque water channel. From there, you will be able to appreciate the breathtaking views of the Andean mountains, including the snow-capped peaks of Humantay and Salkantay.
Our destination for the day is a camping spot located at a high altitude of 3800m/11750ft, where you can experience the cold and scenic surroundings of Soraypampa. We will set up camp and have lunch before we explore the nearby Humantay Lake and take in the natural beauty of the area.
In the evening, we will head back to our campsite, where you can relax and take in the magnificent views of the mountains before a restful night’s sleep.

After breakfast on the second day of our Salkantay Trek, we will begin our uphill hike at approximately 6:30 am. It will take us around 4 hours to reach the highest point of the trek (4650m/15200ft), which is situated between two massive mountains – Salkantay on the right and Tucarhuay on the left. The view of these two snow-capped mountains from the pass is breathtaking, and there is a chance of snow in the area. After a rest and group photo, we will retrace our steps back to Soraypampa for lunch and relaxation before taking the bus back to Cusco.

We suggest bringing a duffel bag or backpack, whichever is most comfortable for you to carry, and also an appropriately sized backpack.
