The domes are located in the Chaullay area, which is a locality situated on the banks of the Urubamba River, in the town of Chaullay.
Chaullay is a populated place located in Cusco, Peru. It is situated in the Convention province of the Cusco department, approximately 2900 meters above sea level, in the middle of the jungle.
It is 19.8 kilometers away from Soraypampa, and from this town to Machu Picchu, there is a distance of 133 kilometers.
These domes serve as a camping area, depending on the itinerary, on the second or third day of the trek from the Salkantay route to Machu Picchu, following the Salkantay Pass located at 4600 meters above sea level. Chaullay is inhabited by a few families who make a living from agriculture and the small economic activity generated by tourists who visit this place. In Chaullay, visitors can purchase some products offered by the locals to replenish their supplies.
The domes offer different options for hotel beds, including single, double, triple, and quadruple rooms.
